My Response: Well, What I think about this passage is that Hassan isn't really learning anything because of the fact that they are not in the same class . They have a different way of learning and Amir knows more things than Hassan do. So, It's like whenever Hassan ask Amir what a word mean or something he try to be funny and say slick things. Amir uses Hassan but Hassan really doesn't catch on to what Amir be doing.

Response: I think the passage is about the relationship between Hassan and Amir. Hassan is in the Hazaras categories and is not as smart as Amir. Amir is in th higher category and think that he is better than Hassan. Hassan is not smart and he look for help from Amir and Amir laughs and says slick jokes and it is disrespectful. That stuff shows it is not loyalty in their relationship and friendship.I believe that Hassan needs to rethink his relationship with Amir because a friend is to be there for a friend if they is in need smart or not and rich or not. Friend is loyalty and Amir is not acting as one but that needs to be a change.
